Louisville Playwrights Festival
Here it is, the 3rd Annual LPF, presented in association with Riverrun Theatre Co. Seven short plays by Louisville playwrights, along with local music and visual artists. There was even a cash bar. It ran for six nights over two weekends in March and April of 2006 at the Frazier Historical Arms Museum at 829 W. Main Street in downtown Louisville. The cost was $15, or $12 with a valid student i.d. How can we do seven plays for a price like that? Volume. Click here for more information on this year's plays.
We will be opening up for submissions for the Fourth Annual festival later this fall. Check back for more information.
Speed the Plow
Our previous production was David Mamet's ode to Hollywood, or at least his ode the question of art vs. commerce. And with a little gender reversal, who says Mamet doesn't write for women? There was a little bit of audience participation, a lot of fun, and a good cause--all proceeds went to the House of Ruth. Being a Mamet play, there are a lot of adult themes and language. And I mean a lot of language. Just saying. Find out more about the play here.
